What to expect
We begin all permanent cosmetic appointments by applying topical numbing your skin with a gentle lidocaine cream while you fill out paperwork. This free time also gives you opportunity to relax your body and mind before the treatment begins.
When your paperwork and numbing are done we customize each design to the client's facial structure. Throughout your appointment from design to final strokes, we measure several times to ensure precise shape and size.
Once we have a pretty and symmetrical outline with you laying down we'll have you sit up and face the artist for some checks with gravity, to make sure everything is staying right where we want it.
We start by numbing the side we're not working on and begin making a skeletal structure, adding blending and detail with each pass. This process is repeated on each side switching numbing and work throughout the procedure.
The last ten minutes of the service we'll wrap up by going over the healing instructions together. You'll be shown how to use the product sent home with you and handed a reminder sheet going over everything we talked about in person.

What is Microblading?
Microblading is a more subtle cosmetic tattoo technique than conventional machined methods. This look is achieved by imitating the look of brow hairs with delicately placed tattoo strokes, expertly weaved in to blend with your natural hair growth pattern. This is done with a small handheld stylus that has a blade-like needle setup on the tip. Each stroke delivers a controlled and small amount of pigment to a superficial layer in the skin between the epidermis and dermis. This small amount of pigment gently fades over time. Clients of Miss Shannons' Studio tend to book a Color-Boost once a year on average to keep up with this fading.
Microblading is known as a semi-permanent tattoo, as the hair strokes fade they require a Color Boost every 1 year or so. Clients of Miss Shannon's Studio tend to book once a year to retain their beautiful shape and color. The frequency of if and when you’ll need a touch up depends on a number of factors. A tattoo can fade much quicker on clients who have more oil production, high sun or UV exposure, and those who use chemically exfoliating products. These products increase your cell turnover rate and will shorten the life of your cosmetic tattoo.
Optional Touch ups are not included in the initial service cost, and are booked as necessary. If you are a new client to Miss Shannon's Studio, please expect to be paying new client prices. Touch up pricing is applicable to current clients of Miss Shannon's only. Please contact Miss Shannon to book your touchup in cases of mishaps during healing and where modifications are wanted.
To ensure the highest quality, sanitation and safety, all of our tools are one time use only. ALL blades, hand tools, wipes, and any other product used during the procedure are disposed of as biohazardous waste after each appointment.
Does it hurt?
We do all that we can to ensure that the process is as comfortable as possible. Before the Microblading begins, the skin is cleansed thoroughly, a topical numbing cream is applied to the area to minimize discomfort followed by a topical lidocaine gel with epinephrine as we move on from side to side. Some clients may feel a slight discomfort, and you will be aware of some sensation, but it’s relatively pain free. You will feel the first few strokes and become more comfortable as we proceed and apply more numbing.
(PLEASE NOTE that if you are a frequent smoker, ingested caffeine within 24 hours or have your appointment during your hormonal/menstrual cycle, the pain level could be intensified)
Healing Process
Immediately following your Microblading procedure, the tattooed strokes will appear darker and bolder. During the healing process, your tattoo will soften and lighten. Not until your touch up session approaches will you notice the faded strokes reappear. This is normal, as they’ll go from dark to faded and light, to just right.
Six to Eight weeks post treatment your brows will are considered fully healed and it is safe for your artist can make any modifications necessary. You will feel healed around four weeks in and wondering why it still looks so light, but have patience! Your skin is still healing the inner layers. Wait at least 6 weeks for your skin to heal fully and become semi translucent again, revealing the pretty and true color of your Microbladed Brows.
